19' - Rob Kavanagh dispossesses Antwan McCreary and gains possession for his team.  Southport attempt to counter.  Rob Kavanagh sees Edward Ahearn making a run.  He tries to release him with a long ball over the top, and Edward Ahearn is able to take the ball.  Edward Ahearn looks to place the ball past the keeper...but the shot is offtarget!

25' - John Bain hits the ball long to Rob Kavanagh.  Ken Weale successfully tackles Rob Kavanagh and the ball goes loose.  Malcolm Desmond sees a run from Jamie Gibby.  He attempts to release him with a throughball, and Jamie Gibby takes the ball.  Jamie Gibby tries to slide the ball past the keeper...but the shot is stopped by the keeper! 27' - Tom Arnott plays a long ball to Richard Gwenn.  Richard Gwenn crosses the ball into the box, but Leo Croskey gets to the ball and makes a clearance.  

31' - Gainsborough launch a counter attack.  Ken Weale sees a run from Vince Cockburn.  He tries to release him with a long ball over the top, but Vince Cockburn is unable to control the ball!  

37' - Richard Gwenn sees a run from Malcolm Desmond.  He attempts to play a throughball, but Malcolm Desmond can't get to the ball!  

42' - Tom Arnott spots a run from Rob Kavanagh.  He tries to release him with a long ball over the top, and Rob Kavanagh takes the ball.  Rob Kavanagh looks to place the ball past the keeper...but the shot is tipped around the post by George MacAuley!  That will be a corner for  Southport.  Malcolm Desmond places the ball to take the corner.  He hits the ball into the box, but no one is able to get to the ball.  

45' - The referee blows the whistle for half time. 

46' - Gainsborough kick the ball off for the start of the second half.  

49' - Rob Kavanagh passes to Malcolm Desmond.  Malcolm Desmond runs with the ball, but is brought down illegally by Charlie Dickson.    The referee has no hesitation in showing Charlie Dickson the yellow card. That will be a freekick for Southport.  

54' - Rob Kavanagh finds John Bain with a long ball.  John Bain plays the ball to Rob Kavanagh.  Rob Kavanagh crosses the ball into the box, but opposing player Ken Weale takes possession.
