I thought it would be a cool idea to start a thread that is country specific. Basically, league chat and club updates that are for a particular nation's leagues. In this case, Belgium. But, feel free to apply this concept to other nations! Overall, owners in Belgium are struggling right now. Most of the new owners' clubs are competing in the regional leagues with promotion chances looking slim. Bocholter VV is sitting at 7th place in the league table. Their owner maintains hope that promotion could happen this season, but the average age of Bocholter's first team lineup has proved to be an issue. The club will stay the course and has no plans to acquire older players at this point in time.

Nice... a discord server would be great for this, could have a channel for each league. For me the game world feels more alive when there's a bit of chat about what's happening it it.

First of all I want to tell you that my English ins't good! My team in Belgium is bad, very bad! i have only .... 2 points so far. I have sold a lot of players bacause there wages where way to high for a small team like RC Mechelen. I hope in the future to build my team up with youth players!

I am taking a different approach. I signed some young free agents and I've been upgrading my club's training center. Leaving the youth academy as a non factor at the moment. This age penalty is really hurting my first team lineup, I think. But all my players will be a year older by next season anyway. That should help.

The age penalty isn't something that I didn't know in the beginning. Now it is to late, so I must be patient for a few seasons....

What is the strategy you follow to make a succes of your team? My first conern was the money! My team made a lot of loss every month, so I have to cut down on wages. That result in a weak team I hope that my youth will bring the succes back!!

Congrats. I'm basically just signing young free agents and hoping that they turn out to have high potential. I decided to go that route rather than build up my youth academy. I have only purchased one player through transfers, which is my GK, Juan Ector.

As for losing money, other owners that have been here longer than me said this will happen when you compete in the lower divisions and you have to be okay with it. Apparently it is easier to keep your club profitable after you've earned promotion to the higher leagues.

Yes! My first youthplayer with a potential between 750 and 1000 has arrived!!! Lets hope that there will be a few more in the next seasons!!

Good job. As long as they're confirmed 750-1000 potential range, I'm happy with it. I suppose to top club owners in the game are more picky and want to scout to ensure their players can reach the higher end of that range.

How can I be sure that the player has that potential? Scout them?

A new season is about to start in Belgium! It will be interesting to see if any owned clubs can finish in a spot that guarantees promotion.

My first deception in the new saeson.... My first game of my youth lost against Roeselaere. I am investing a lot of money in my youth centre and than losing against a team without a youth centre is painfull....

But there is offorse a reason why my youth team isn't strong at this moment! 10 youthplayers (17-18 years old) are playing in the first team! So I must be paitient and hope that next season the team will be strong enough for the top positions in diivsion 4!!

I like the idea of doing this as like a ‘hard mode’ challenge, but be aware it will be very difficult and take far longer to grow your clubs this way. There are hundreds of clubs with better youth academies who release most of their old youth prospects into the pool of free agents each year, and without good training facilities it will take a few seasons for most of your youth prospects to develop to this level of player your competitors will be signing and which you can sign immediately. By scouting Belgian/French/Dutch free agents and using your 3 loans wisely you should be able to assemble a team good enough to challenge for promotion in no time. If you knew all this already but wanted to do it the youth team way for fun, I respect it and encourage it, one day I might try something similar!

I know, but I ill try it It will take some time, but that doesn't matter! All the money that I have, I will spend on the youth academy and the training centre.

Well I like the idea of this challenge and wish you all the best!

What longsands mentioned is basically what I did. Except instead of individually scouting free agents, I just looked at what youth academy they came from. I tried to sign the ones that came from big clubs with World Class youth academies. That method gave me a lot of good young players to train up without even upgrading my youth academy at all! But, the way you're doing it can work too. I'm sure every manager has their own strategy.
