In order to cut down data and help a bit with the overall speed of the game, Youth processing will be switched off at the end of this season.  I'll leave the completed fixtures/tables there for another couple of seasons before I delete those as well.

Youth squads will still be there.

yes, you'lll still be able to see the youth squad same way as before, and youth players will still gradually improve

One question, which might also help with the size of the game, are you going to look at retirement age/deteriorating stats for players at all?  It seems to me that far too many players go well into their late thirties or even their forties without much appreciable drop off.  It makes it hard to bring through the next generation (for instance, at Caldas I signed a younger front line as assumed my regulars would wane but at 37/38 they're still all lethal).  Buxton just lost to Darlington again, I looked and it was John Pryde scoring the winner again, he was born just before the Magna Carta was drafted but is still banging them in left, right and centre.

It seems to me that it would be more realistic, and reduce the number of players in the game a bit, if some tweaking were done aroujnd deterioration through aging and players seeking to retire.  It is also more fun if we have a few new faces from time to time!

Just a thought, don't mind if this is not on the cards at all.

FWIW agree entirely on ditching the youth leagues.  A shame but makes sense.

Thanks for the feedback ST. Players going on forever has been an annoying bug since the start and I'll try fixing that in this version before I restart.

No problem - and please noone think I am knocking any other human players of the game.  Both Caldas and Buxton will suffer if aging stars start to fade!

It wasn't taken that way, you're absolutely right. Although IRL you get a few elite players playing deep into their 30s, in this game I don't think a harder retirement cap would be a bad thing, since we generally get to keep those players as long as we want and generally have got our money's worth out of them long before they turn 30. I was expecting Pryde, Camargo and Pierpoint to retire long ago (and Arenas/Koksharov at Batman), but they're still carrying on, and the players I'd brought in to replace them are getting quite old themselves now. But couldn't bring myself to let club legends go elsewhere, and they're too good and on too high wage to just bench. Just seen that all three are back again for the new season - @Admin I wouldn't complain if you decided to intervene and put at least some of these players into forced retirement before the new season gets going.

There are free agents in their late 50s and according to the code this should be impossible!
