Random formation changes


Simon Templar 01/03/2023 at 08:59 SSC Napoli Caldas SC Buxton FC Morning. Buxton just played Charlton away, a fixture I hadn’t looked into or changed my formation for. However, reading the match report just now, the manager changed my default formation (to 4-33 attack from my usual 4-2-3-1), and fielded a couple of unusual players who aren’t in my default formation. We promptly lost 3-2. Had this happened to anyone else, do you know? Is this a known glitch? It’s frustrating if we’re going to have to manually override the lineup for every match, especially as I can’t always make time to do that. Was hoping I could rely on the set default sticking. We didn’t have injuries to cause a change. Thank you.
Simon Templar 01/03/2023 at 09:05 SSC Napoli Caldas SC Buxton FC And just to follow up - I have just looked at Buxton’s next fixture lineup and it is blank, the default has gone. I can reset it but as I didn’t void it, there seems to be a gremlin. Grateful if you could take a quick look. Thank you!
admin 01/03/2023 at 18:48 Atlético Clube Goianiense Hi, looking in the default fixture lineup for Buxton, it is currently set to "not active" so won't be used. Not sure if you updated this before or after you noticed an issue. Anyway, you know that you can have multiple active default lineups now? I think you've seen the changes but you only have one called "league" and its not active. (And also for any game type, not league). On my two accounts, I haven't had any issue. The only time it's chosen a different formation / lineup was when I faced opposition which had a different "opposition quality" to what I had in active default lineups. So if you are going to have multiple lineups like me, you'd better ensure every scenario is covered.

Kamelkaze 01/03/2023 at 19:54 Charleroi Monaco Servette FC for me, the multiple lineups working great! at the beginning it taked a while until i figured out, how to set them correct. But i have two issue with it. If i set a lineup for a specific match, because of a injury or a international call up, it seems they remove the active button in general for default lineup, and if i click on refresh subs/age, it seems to add bench players of the first lineup in the list. edited by Kamelkaze on 01/03/2023

admin 01/03/2023 at 22:10 Atlético Clube Goianiense ok, hopefully sorted now.. 1) as you have noticed if you change a lineup for an individual fixture but do not want to update the default lineup, it just changes that default lineup to not active. this should be ok now. 2) the refresh subs button was not checking the correct default starting lineup. fixed this hopefully. please have a play around and see if it works now?
Simon Templar 02/03/2023 at 00:04 SSC Napoli Caldas SC Buxton FC Yes, the active button might have been my issue (I have had two injuries this week, which necessitated changes). But it has shaken my confidence in it (Buxton suddenly flirting with the relegation zone!), so I am going analogue and simply reverting to how I played previously. So am not going to use the multiple lineups function going forwards. I had started deleting my options (which is why you saw that I only had one), but was interrupted before finished (kids!), will delete the remaining ones tomorrow. I’d rather be laboriously clunky but reliable rather than risk an issue using the new version. There’s a personality insight! Thanks for looking at it. Just not for me.

All teams have a minimum of one default lineup record in the database (even if its empty and no players etc selected). So the one labelled "League" can be used as your single default lineup. Just rename it back to Default and update that exactly as you did before. Make sure you have gametype and oppqual set to "Not Selected" so that the lineup will be used for every match. Note that the name is just a freetext thing which can be anything. Its just there so ppl who decide to have multiple lineups can tell them apart in the drop down list edited by admin on 02/03/2023

Have to say this whole area of the game has set me back. Am sure it is all my fault but I keep thinking I have fixed it and I get another weird outcome. Wish I had never experimented with multiple lineups. I have a 4-3-2-1 formation saved with Bahlinger and default active yet the manager just played 5-4-1 and we have been knocked out in the first round. Pretty hacked off, any chance you could look at the Bahlinger lineup and see whether there’s a glitch or whether I’m jsut missing something basic? Obviously not on a weekend!!

So it will only use that default line up for league matches and not cup matches. For Buxton, you have game type "Not Selected" and its active, so that lineup will be used for all match types For Caldas, you should be ok as well. Game type is "Not Selected" so the lineup will be used for both league and cup. edited by admin on 06/03/2023

I had deleted any odd formations and just had one default lineup. Will do it again, but it seems there is something odd going on (although appreciate you can't do any more). I deliberately went through all three teams and reset to defaults, then checked it not once but twice more and it was good. Anyway, thanks for checking, will redo it now. At least it makes Bahlinger league specialists, so can get up to Bundesliga 1 and have a go at those Frankfurt lads next season.
admin 07/03/2023 at 15:19 Atlético Clube Goianiense Yes, there is definitely only 1 default lineup per team for you when I checked, and all looked fine apart from the game type drop down being set to League for Bahlenger instead of Not Selected. Maybe you deleted one you meant to keep? Anyway, assuming you have changed that game type to "Not Selected" and hit Update, then you should be back to how it was before any changes were made. I'll check yours now and again to ensure you still only have 1 lineup per team with no game type or opp qual set
