@Simon Yes thats a serious questions, because i want to understand how the game works and i want to prevent buying dozens of old players carrying the Team within a few seasons to First League. Currently its not possible for me to compare a 16y old 650 Player with a 36y 480 Player. I cannot say which one is the better Player at the moment.
Instead of age i would like to have a chemistry Team Rating thats get affected, for example how long the team plays together and if a new player joins or leave the team. Which could also include the languages and so on.
I do understand the fix. Even If there are 10 identical players in the lineup, its hard to compare both players. And i do Not understand the AI Manager choices for their lineups.
Oof, just seen this thread, this will be brutal for my teams (average ages of 19, 20 and 21) but agree it's probably good for the game in the long run. Now if I can only just persuade my 51 year old goalkeeping coach to come out of retirement I'll only be a couple of years short ;) Edit: Without this change there's no real incentive to even look at players over the age of 21 given there are plenty of youngsters with the capacity to improve to a level beyond that of the more mature players who would want to sign for a very low status club. Focussing on youth and developing promising-but-inexperienced players will still be important, but it wouldn't be realistic in the long run for every lower league team to be made up of teenagers, while there's a whole database full of decent players rotting away as free agents in their prime. Just looked at the average age of National League (playing) teams and it's about 25. edited by longsands on 17/10/2022
Question about this modifier - is it a fixed penalty if your average age is under 24, or is it a sliding scale? e,g, small impact if average age is 23, slightly worse if it's 22, slighty worse again if it's 21 etc.?
hopefully you have all picked up some 30+ players to balance out your lineups
